Alia Holt (she/her)
Public Health and Community Building Assistant
Introducing Alia Holt, an Atlanta native and Master of Public Health candidate at Louisiana State University Shreveport, focused on health equity and the social determinants of health. A first-generation college graduate rooted in the Oakland City and Sylvan Hills communities where she grew up, Alia lets her lived experience guide her commitment to community-centered public health. At S.E.J.H Institute, she serves as the Public Health & Community Building Assistant, where her signature project is a grassroots public health campaign centered on community-defined health priorities. Her own journey navigating the healthcare system as a Black woman fuels her passion for reproductive justice and closing gaps in health access. Beyond S.E.J.H, Alia is engaged in work with the EARTHGANG Foundation, A Rye Inc. and IMPACT Strategies, and Mothers for Justice and Equality, and is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She looks forward to deepening her community engagement skills and contributing to S.E.J.H’s vision of a more just and liberated public health future. Welcome, Alia Holt.
